Did you know? Students from Phu Xuan University have received an invitation from Texas A&M University to participate in the unique event "Invent for the Planet."

Howdy! Xin Chào!

We are writing to invite you to participate in a unique event called "Invent for the Planet" (IFTP). This is a Global Intensive Design Experience (IDE) based on the Aggies Invent program that we have implemented at Texas A&M University. Aggies Invent is a 48-hour IDE program for students from first-year undergraduates to Ph.D. research students. Teams will work over the weekend to provide solutions to a problem presented by a partner or organization in the industry. Teams will not only solve the problem but also build a working model and "pitch" it to the judging panel as a competition product. Through this experience, we aim to lead students to engage in projects in our Engineering Entrepreneurship Program. We have seen patents and startup companies emerge from this program.

Aggies Invent takes the form of engineering design and simulates the first job experience of an engineer within 48 hours. It is an intense program but in a much more educational and diverse engineering process. Since the summer of 2014, we have organized this experiential program three times each semester.

About "Invent for the Planet - IFTP"

Our students are called Aggies, so we call this program Aggies Invent. As other universities deploy it, we name them [U] InventTM and substitute their school name for [U]. In February 2018, we decided to simultaneously run the [U] InventTM program worldwide and named this event "Invent for the Planet - IFTP," and during the event weekend, "the sun never sets on the IFTP program." In 2018, 14 universities participated in this event. In the latest IFTP held in 2020, that number increased to 40 universities. This year, we are excited to be able to organize IFTP 2022!

Each participating university or organization will organize its own local event, where students form teams and address common problems using the Need Statements provided by the program. Each university will select a winning team to compete with teams from around the world. The top 5 teams globally will be invited to Texas A&M University to participate in the final competition, and we have raised enough funds to support teams with travel expenses, helping reduce the financial burden for them to participate in the competition.

In the past, this event has exceeded our expectations. In fact, winning teams from each event have propelled their projects further or launched startup companies. Therefore, we decided to relaunch it from February 18 to February 20, 2022, and hope to attract many universities worldwide to participate. So far, the program has always been well-supported, but we really want more of you to join us!

Invent for the Planet will be held simultaneously in many locations worldwide. Each group will start at 4:00 PM local time on Friday, February 18, 2022. Teams will take turns participating in the race at their local time. The mission of student teams is to create design challenges based on the program's Need Statements specifically for you. Teams are also encouraged to connect with other teams worldwide as they work online.

At the end of the weekend, we will:
